Las Palmas de Gran Canaria’s city council has signed an agreement to provide the necessary legal framework for an exciting Project: 22ºC Campus. This initiative aims to disseminate on an international level not just the benefits of Gran Canaria’s wonderful climate for spending long periods of time on the Island, but also the university education opportunities that the city offers. The ultimate aim is to increase the number of incoming foreign students through the existing mobility programmes: Erasmus, SICUE-Séneca, Latin-America, the United States, Korea, etc.

The activities to be developed within this Project include an encounter with EasternEuropean students, the establishment of a brand image for the 22ºC Campus programme and the putting together of a guide and support document for students participating in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria’smobility programmes.

The 22 reasons to study in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria are available on Facebook and Youtube: the wide range of academic options on offer, as one of the most modern and cosmopolitan cities, as an open, tolerant city, with the best climate in the world, the diverse university life on offer, the wide range of cultural, commercial and leisure options, etc.  Moreover, information leaflets have been created in two languages, Spanish and English, for distributionabroad, under the slogan “The best climate for your university career”.

22ºC Campus aims to be the bridge for information and the dissemination of the excellent qualities of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria abroad, as its climate and standard of living are highly appreciated by foreign students who have studied on the Island. This is a unique feature offered by the capital of Gran Canaria, which therefore constitutes a competitive advantage in comparison with other universities that can attract talent to the Island. This will, in turn, enhance the city’s economic activity and help to create employment.
